About Us

Owner Jim Haugan opened Village Skis and Bikes in 1984. Jim started in the bike business in 1968 as a mechanic in a bike shop near Detroit, Michigan. He also spent nine years on the National Ski Patrol and managed ski shops in Vermont and the Washington DC area. Other swell characters you may encounter on a visit to the shop are Tyler, Connor, Zac, Morgan, Ray, and Jake.

The 2013 Washington Consumer Checkbook rated Village Skis & Bikes as having the best prices and service in the Washington DC Metro area.
